Part of my job as an educator is to be up to date with world news. Last night one of my lessons was about the latest business news in the United Kingdom. The country is still suffering from recession unlike its neighboring countries. Germany and France have shown good signs of recovery according to news. GDP shows its lowest figures since 1955.

The main reason for this phenomenon is the unexpected decline in services factor, also with the distribution, catering and hotels sector. Like the US, bailouts were infused but good results haven’t showed up yet. Analysts are saying that the government and Bank of England should continue to infuse bailouts and it would really take time before they hit the road to recovery. It seems that US is not alone in its recession problem, and just like what the president of the country has said, “Change has come to America”. Let’s all hope that positive change comes pouring out soon.

If you will browse for the latest finance news on the internet, you have to brace yourself for some bad news especially in the job market area. The US unemployment rate is closing to almost two digits, (9. +%) every job seeker has the tendency to feel affected upon hearing the news. To makes matter worse, the fresh graduates are more vulnerable in this economic scenario.

When I was in school, it was also my fear to end up as among the unemployed. Now, these young people’s dreams seem a little bit obscured. But then, now is not the time to lose hopes. If you think that you’ve done almost everything to find a job and still didn’t work, take a break. Try to volunteer in some social work, find work abroad or go back to school. You can also start your own business, work as a sales agent or a freelance writer or like me, try tutoring.
