Part of my job as an educator is to be up to date with world news. Last night one of my lessons was about the latest business news in the United Kingdom. The country is still suffering from recession unlike its neighboring countries. Germany and France have shown good signs of recovery according to news. GDP shows its lowest figures since 1955.
The main reason for this phenomenon is the unexpected decline in services factor, also with the distribution, catering and hotels sector. Like the US, bailouts were infused but good results haven’t showed up yet. Analysts are saying that the government and Bank of England should continue to infuse bailouts and it would really take time before they hit the road to recovery. It seems that US is not alone in its recession problem, and just like what the president of the country has said, “Change has come to America”. Let’s all hope that positive change comes pouring out soon.
