In business, maintaining your clients or customers plays a vital role. Just like “customers are always right” different promotional strategies are developed to increase your niche, reduce customer complaints and gain more loyalty. I learned the marketing mix in college, or commonly known as the 4 P’s of marketing, namely product, price, place or distribution and promotion. The main objective of this is for every company to have their products readily available to its end consumers in the most accessible way possible.
What makes me wonder is the fact that our professors didn’t mention about order fulfillment technology. Was it because it’s been ages when I graduated or simply the textbook didn’t mention any such system? This system can give any company numerous benefits and ideas on how to reduce their order processing cost and reduce cycle time as well. If shipping companies stick to a systematic system and produce favorable results, I think companies should also engage in such activity. It’s not just a matter of what is the available mode of transportation but basically reducing distribution cost and earning more profits. Customers are the lifeline of business, losing those means losing the business in the long run so its high time companies invest in this technology.
